General
What is Prajna Jyothi?
Prajna Jyothi is a Vedic astrology based career guidance app. It creates a career reading from your birth details and career context, then lets you ask follow-up career questions grounded in that reading.
Is this a replacement for my own judgement?
No. The reading is for guidance and reflection only. Career decisions should still be made using your judgement, practical situation, trusted advice, and professional context.
Do I need to sign in to use the app?
You can start without signing in — sign-in is optional. Signing in (with your Google account, no password) saves your purchased question count and any saved birth profiles so they stay available across browser sessions and devices. As a guest you can still use the app fully; saved profiles require sign-in.
Why we take payments
Why does Prajna Jyothi charge for questions?
Answering your follow-up questions has real, ongoing costs — the servers that keep the app running and the AI services used to generate each response. What we charge is meant only to cover these costs and keep the service running reliably for everyone.
Is this for profit?
No. The payments are not meant to generate profit. Beyond covering running costs, they also modestly compensate the human effort that goes into building and maintaining the app. They simply help sustain the service so it stays available to students and professionals who find it useful, and let us keep improving the guidance based on your feedback.
Isn't Vedic astrology a sacred tradition that shouldn't be commercialized?
We deeply respect this view. Jyotiṣa is a divine śāstra, and our humble intention is simply to help its benefits reach more people — not to commercialize it. Traditionally, Vedic astrologers were supported by kings and patrons, which allowed their guidance to be shared freely with those who sought it. In today's world, without such patronage, a small contribution helps keep this service running and modestly supports the effort behind it. We see the payment only as a way to sustain and share this knowledge, offered in a spirit of seva (selfless service) rather than profit.
Questions & Payments
What is the question count and where do I see it?
The question count is the number of paid follow-up career questions you can ask after your reading. You can see the remaining count in the small number badge near the Ask button, and in the top navigation when applicable. Hovering over the badge shows how many are remaining; clicking it opens the details popup.
When is one question deducted?
One question is deducted when the app successfully answers a career-related follow-up question. If the question is rejected as off-topic, a question is not deducted.
What happens when my question count reaches zero?
The app shows "No questions remaining" and gives you the option to buy more questions. If you click Ask with zero remaining, the question-count details popup opens so you can purchase more. (If the question box is empty, the app simply highlights it so you can type your question.)
What plans are available and who processes payment?
The app currently offers paid question packs, including a 1-question pack and a 3-question pack. Current prices are shown on the Buy career questions screen and in the purchase popup. Payments are processed through Razorpay.
What happens after a successful payment, and what if the count does not update?
After payment succeeds and is verified, the purchased questions are added to your question count and you can ask follow-up questions from the reading page. If the count does not update immediately, refresh the page and check again. If you are signed in, your count is stored on your account; if you paid as a guest, use the same browser session where the payment was made. If the issue remains, contact support with the payment details.
Do purchases create a subscription?
No. Purchases add question credits only. They do not create a subscription.
Guest vs. Signed-In Purchases
Can I buy questions without signing in?
Yes. If you are not signed in and click a plan, the app warns that the question count is saved only for the current browser session. You can then choose Continue or Sign in.
What does "browser session only" mean, and is it durable?
For guest users, the purchased question identity is stored in the browser session. A normal hard refresh should not remove paid guest questions while the same browser session and the backend record remain. But if you close the browser, clear browser data, switch browsers, or use another device, you may lose access to unused guest questions. Guest credits are less durable than signed-in credits, so signing in is the safer option.
What happens to my guest questions when I later sign in?
The app attempts to move unused guest questions to your signed-in account, where they are saved permanently. This works best when you sign in from the same browser session used for the guest purchase.
Reading Sessions
What is a reading session, and why does it expire?
A reading session is the temporary context created after your career reading is generated; follow-up questions use it so answers stay grounded in your chart and career profile. You may see "This reading session has expired" if the backend restarted, the temporary context expired, or the session is no longer available. Run another professional reading, then ask your question again.
Does losing a reading session mean I lost my paid questions?
Not necessarily. Your question count is separate from the reading context. Signed-in question credits stay on your account. Guest credits depend on the same browser session and backend database still being available.
